Laura Macmillan is...

…a diverse string musician from the central belt of Scotland. Specialising in the Violin, LED ELECTRIC Violin & Viola, Laura is classically trained and a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly the RSAMD). As well as having freelanced with all of Scotland’s most prolific orchestras (including the RSNO and BBC SSO), Laura has vast experience within various other musical genres including Scottish & Irish traditional and also Classical Crossover (bands, DJ’s, orchestras etc).

Laura also has extensive session experience, both in the studio as well as live performance. She has appeared with, toured with, supported or recorded with the following artists:

Laura is proud to perform regularly with innovative orchestras including Manchester Camerata (Hacienda Classical), Kaleidoscope Orchestra (Cream Classical), Ministry of Sound Classical and is also the leader of Symphonix Rock Orchestra

She is also the violinist and backing vocalist of Merseyside-based celtic Rock & Rock band Ian Prowse & Amsterdam.
